When Miss Nebraska and a Texas Rangers player get together for desert engagement photos you know it’s going to be a home run (couldn’t resist)! These two are the sweetest people with the kindest hearts and it was such an honor to spend a very, very cold and windy spring afternoon with them.
I asked them each to tell me what they love about each other. Their responses say it all!
Amanda: “Jake is the funniest person I know. I have never gone a day that I don’t embarrassingly, ugly laugh (cackle) because of something he has said or done. He has the biggest caring and giving heart. He would give me the world if he could. He puts others before himself and that is something I admire about him. I’m a major homebody and there is nothing more he would love to do than stay in and have a movie night with just the two of us, and I adore that. We are so alike in so many ways that when we are goofing around together… sometimes we look at each other and say, “Please never change!”
I love him just the way he is and I know he feels the same, and I think that’s so powerful! I remember the first time I knew I was in love with him. It was about 3 months into our relationship and we went to a movie, and as he was dropping me back off at my apartment, making me laugh the whole way home with his singing and dancing in the car, I simply couldn’t get out of the truck once we got to my place. I just wanted to stay in that moment forever. I couldn’t stop looking at him and knowing I loved him and would marry him someday.”
Jake: “The ‘spark’ for me is everyday with Amanda… every single day she does something that amazes me. She is the most beautiful person I have ever seen. She’s my best friend! From coming home and cooking dinner, to her breaking out into a song and dance number in the living room just because she is feeling it at that moment. Amanda is my rock. She’s my everything. I’ve been in and out of the hospital several times this year and she never leaves my side… honestly NEVER!
There are so many things throughout the day that she does, and it blows my mind. Walking in after grocery shopping one day she had Nerf guns laid out with a note saying, “Loser cooks dinner!” I love seeing her happy more than anything! Her smile makes everything better and could bring down a room. She’s full of surprises and everyday is new with her! I love her more and more everyday.”
