Brooke & Clinton were dressed to the nines for their Saguaro Lake engagement photos! These two love going to the lake and hanging at Clinton’s farm, so we headed out to Saguaro Lake, a location that would be special to them.
I asked Clinton to tell me about how he proposed:
“I knew I wanted to propose for some time, and we had talked about marriage and the future plenty. I’d considered doing it on a trip to Costa Rica in the summer, but the timing on the ring didn’t work out. I wanted it to be a surprise, but she also wanted her family there. I thought one of my only chances of doing that was in Tubac, where we had our first date. Her parents were building a house and had bought some stuff for it in Tubac. I had just been down the weekend before with them in Tubac picking some things up. I asked Brooke’s mom, Jacque, if she could help me with the proposal, and tell Brooke they were just going down to pick up more stuff. There were a few times I thought she knew something was up, but whether she knew or not, I was only concerned with the answer. I asked my cousin Delaney to come take pictures of everything, and also drive me because I was a nervous wreck!
I had a 2 1/2 hr drive to Tucson by myself and I hadn’t heard from Jacque. I was thinking, this drive back is really going to suck if she doesn’t show. Delaney and I finally arrive and were standing out on the golf course under a huge cottonwood, hoping Brooke didn’t find out I was proposing and stay home! Finally, I get a text, “We’re here!” My prayers had been answered and it was the moment of truth. As they walked towards us on the path, I came out from behind the tree. I grabbed Brooke’s hand and wasn’t letting go. I got down on one knee in front of her family and asked if she would continue being the best part of me for the rest of our lives. There was lots of crying, but I did get a yes, confirmed twice and inked!”
