Brooke & Jack’s Saguaro Lake engagement photos are so beautiful! We had perfect weather and gorgeous golden hour light. These two lovebirds live in Minnesota and are having a destination wedding in Arizona!
I asked Brooke to tell me about how they met and how Jack proposed:
“We first met in August 2012 at graduate school orientation at the University of Minnesota (MHA – Master of Healthcare Administration). I remember Jack standing up in the back of the room and announcing that he could help anyone who was having technological issues – he became known as the class IT consultant from that day forward. Throughout our two years of grad school we hung out and studied with the same group of six classmates and became really close friends (the other two girls in this group of 6 will be bridesmaids in our wedding)!
After school, I moved to Iowa City to pursue an administrative fellowship at the University of Iowa, and Jack started his fellowship in Minneapolis. Long distance “staying in touch” became long-distance dating and after a year, I moved back to Minneapolis – we’ve been dating ever since!
Jack had made reservations for us at a French small-plate restaurant that we had been wanting to visit for months – St. Genevieve. He told me that the gift certificate we had to the restaurant was about to expire and we needed to go that weekend. He knew I could never stand the proposition of letting a gift certificate go to waste, and therefore wouldn’t change or cancel the plans as I often do.
I was getting ready in the bathroom and heard lots of commotion in the kitchen/living room, but didn’t think anything of it. When I finally walked out (with one heel on, one heel off), the entire room was lit with candles and Jack was on one knee. I said “yes!”
After the proposal we actually did go to St. Genevieve, where there was a bottle of champagne waiting for us at the cutest, coziest booth in the restaurant.”
So excited for their wedding this fall at The Rim Golf Club!
