Kara & Drew’s Desert Mountain engagement photos were so fun and beautiful!  Kara’s mom lives in the community so we had private access to some of the most beautiful scenery there.  We couldn’t have asked for better weather and these two had my laughing the entire time.

I asked Drew to tell me about how he proposed:

“November 10, 2017 in Chicago. I had Kara totally convinced that we were going there for her birthday celebration and that there was no way she would be getting a ring. I don’t like doing big things in conjunction with other life events, and I also told her that the right diamond hadn’t come through the ring designer I was working with.

Friday night dinner, RPM Steakhouse. The dinner lasted forever, at least in my head, and when it was over, I made sure the server brought out a dessert. Out came a chocolate cake with gold shavings on it with a single candle. Once she blew out the candle, I asked her if she got everything she wanted for her birthday. I was expecting her to say no, and that she wanted a ring as well, but she said yes. I was already on my way down to one knee and couldn’t turn back.

I popped the box open and asked if she would marry me. After a couple, ‘Oh my God, are you serious-es’ she finally said yes. I don’t know if we stopped smiling the whole weekend.”
