Katie & Bryan’s Colony 29 wedding photos were so beautiful! The weather was perfect and the joy and sense of humor between these two was palpable.
I asked Katie to tell me about one of their favorite moments from when they first started dating:
“In our first year of dating, we went to the Orange County Fair one evening. On the way there, I jokingly stated that if Bryan didn’t win me a stuffed animal from one of the fair games, the relationship was over. Bryan, unable to back down from the challenge despite its playful nature, proceeded to play about $50 worth of ring toss, bean bag toss, basketball, and dart at balloon toss (he remembered being really good at that when he was 5 or 6), to no avail.
Finally, he challenged a group of 8 year olds to a game of “shoot the water in the hole so that your horse moves down the track” – and WON! He selected a wonderful blue stuffed penguin for me, to my giggling delight. I promptly named the penguin “Harvey” after a character on a show that we had been watching, and then we took the penguin around the fair as if it were our new child… taking pictures of it eating a bacon donut and enjoying fireworks. We both take this as a defining moment where we realized how compatible and complimentary we were in our weirdness.”
Harvey was the “ring bearer” at their wedding and you can even see him on their cake topper! It was an amazing weekend and I’m so honored to have been there to document it!
