Jenny & Jared’s Royal Palms wedding was set against the backdrop of Camelback Mountain, surrounded by the lush grounds of the boutique hotel venue. It’s such a gorgeous, Mediterranean style property with all kinds of nooks and crannies to explore. It was the perfect spot for their romantic, classic wedding!

I asked them to tell me about how they met, a favorite memory from when they first started dating, and how Jared proposed:

Jenny: “Although Jared and I met for the first time back in 2003, we didn’t start dating until about 8 years later. We first met when I was a sophomore in college at ASU, and my friend Amber was working with Jared at F1 Race Factory. In October 2010, we were with a group of friends in Las Vegas for Halloween, and Jared and I really connected on that trip, over dancing and watching movies in the hotel room while sharing pizza. Jared dressed up as a boy scout and I dressed up as Cleopatra. We started dating officially in August 2011 after a night of swimming and eating chocolate chip cookie dough.

One of my favorite memories is going out to eat with Jared and realizing he hadn’t tried any vegetables in something like 20 years, and convincing him to try some of my cauliflower. He loved it! After 6 years together, he eats vegetables pretty much every day; his favorites are broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprouts.

Another of my favorite memories is when we were going to move in together, and I had been looking at a set of dishes for our house. I came home from work one day and Jared had bought the set for me and surprised me with them.”

Jared: “One of the first nights Jen and I hung out together we made a bet about the way the Lincoln Lawyer was going to end. Whoever lost the bet had to make dinner for the other. However, I had already seen the movie and thought I knew the ending. Turns out, I was wrong. Even though I had already seen the movie, I still lost the bet. I made steak and peas for Jen, since peas were the only vegetable I knew how to cook.

We got engaged in March of 2014. We went to Hawaii to celebrate Jen’s 30th birthday and I proposed in front of a waterfall on the island of Kauai.”
