It was the most perfect day for Kacey & Jon’s Mountain Shadows wedding. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Camelback Mountain, and brimming with a midcentury vibe, they had a day to remember.
I asked Kacey to tell me about their early dating days and how Jon proposed:
“We met through mutual friends after college. Our friend Evan was organizing an amazing trip to Croatia through Yacht Week, and Jon and I both ended up on the trip. We became friends during the 7 days we lived at sea, and when we got back to Houston we kept talking to each other and found out we went to the same church. One day after church Jon texted me and asked me out, and after that we’ve never stopped hanging out!
I knew Jon was the one when I had a hard day/week and Jon cooked for me, poured me a glass of wine, tucked me into the couch, and let me watch whatever girly show I was into at the time, while he was working on his next project, which was building his own desk. I remember thinking the exact thought of, ‘He’s the one.’
We got engaged November 2018, Jon tricked me BIG TIME. My friends told me we were going to an Art Show and made a fake website and invite. When we got there, the place was empty, so I thought we had the wrong time or address. But when I walked in, Jon was there in the art gallery surrounded by pictures of us. He proposed, and I freaked out, and it was amazing.”
