Katie & Nate’s Scottsdale elopement fell on what would have been their original big wedding date. But because of COVID, they opted for an intimate ceremony in the desert with only immediate family present. It was beautiful, special, and completely personal. Their big wedding next year is going to be outstanding!
I asked Katie to tell me about how Nate proposed:
“We got engaged on April 7th, 2019. Nate totally surprised me. He told me we were going to Leavenworth (a small Bavarian town in Eastern Washington), to go wine tasting with another couple. We went on a day-trip to Leavenworth for our first date, and it’s one of our favorite places. The first time we went, we took a walk through the park on the edge of town and were able to see deer. We shared a moment together, just standing in this beautiful park watching the deer.
Nate took me back to that spot and said, ‘My shoe’s untied.’ He got down on one knee and took the ring out. I was completely shocked! After I said yes, I told him that I almost threw up when he looked up at me with the ring out and said, ‘My shoe’s not really untied.'”
