Bailey & Andrew’s Phoenix desert engagement session was equal parts picturesque and fun! A hot summer day, our original location barricaded due to fire risk, and spotty cell service were no match for us. I’m always grateful for couples who trust me to find beautiful locations and adventure into the desert to create some new memories.

I asked Bailey to tell me about how Andrew proposed:

“We were with Andrew’s parents over Thanksgiving this past November, 2019 in St. Charles, IL. This was very normal for us since we’ve been swapping out holidays for the past 3 years. We had a fabulous Thanksgiving. The next day, Andrew’s parents were attending a holiday party, so he made plans for us to go out to our favorite restaurant, ZaZa’s in downtown St. Charles. After, we would meet up with a bunch of our friends at a local speakeasy bar. Sounded very typical to me!

After we enjoyed a nice Italian dinner, we walked across the street to meet our friends. Andrew stopped in front of Hotel Baker and asked if I wanted to go inside to get a martini at the bar before we met up with everyone. Of course, I exclaimed that we were late and needed to meet everyone soon! He insisted, saying that it was an iconic hotel in Illinois and he at least wanted me to look inside. We walked inside and he asked the hostess where the elevator was. We went up the elevator and I kept asking if he knew where he was going…

We got up the elevator and he got down on one knee. I remember the feeling of butterflies and a big wind of tears immediately poured out. He said something very sweet and proposed! Boy was I surprised…

Following the proposal, a photographer swept around the corner and started to photograph the moment. I could not stop crying. I turned the corner and my family, Andrew’s family, and a bunch of our close friends rushed into the room. WATER WORKS! My family had flown in from CT & SC.

Andrew made this night so incredibly special. The love of my life!”
