Melissa & Andrew’s Arizona desert engagement photos were absolutely exquisite! Surrounded by saguaro cactus, towering mountains and the golden hour glow, these two lit up the desert.

I asked Melissa to tell me about how they met and Andrew proposed:

“Andrew was working at the local bank as a financial advisor. I came into the bank for a financial review, and was booked for my appointment with Andrew. Typically, the appointments last anywhere between 30-45 mins, but this appointment lasted around 1.5 hours. We shared stories about graduating university, how I was going to take a Euro trip to visit my sister for the Christmas holidays, and my career goals to become a Registered Nurse. Because of the immediate connection, Andrew sent a follow-up email to be professional, but also give the hint that he was interested. A few weeks later through mutual friends, we met up for our 1st date.

We got engaged on June 18, 2020. Andrew took me ring shopping a few weeks prior to get an idea of what I would like and sizing, but Andrew and the jeweler had a plan to tell me the custom ring would take at least a few months. However, they knew it would be about a few weeks. One Thursday afternoon, I was sitting outside in my pajamas after a night shift and chatting with my sister on FaceTime. He came out to the backyard and asked me to hang up the phone because of an emergency. I then saw my dog of 9 years Gizmo, with a cute little sign around his neck with the words, ‘Melissa will you marry me?’ I was stunned. Andrew got on 1 knee and proposed in our backyard which is exactly what I wanted. Private, intimate and in the comfort of my home.”
