These two Oklahomans have a special connection to Scottsdale, so what better place to get married and share their Silverleaf wedding photos!  Silverleaf is one of the most beautiful venues in the valley, with Tuscan inspired architecture, tons of stone work and gorgeous mountain views.  Sarah is a fabulous photographer herself, and it’s always an honor when another photographer asks me to document the first day of their marriage!

I asked them each to tell me about how they met and how they knew each other was the one:

Sarah:  We had both gone to the same college (OU) and had some mutual friends, but never really interacted much until we both found ourselves living in Dallas at the same time. We both remember one specific night when we both lived in Dallas that we both really noticed each other. It was at Christie’s sports bar, one of Colby’s FAVORITE spots (he would have had our wedding there if he could). We were with a bunch of mutual friends watching an Oklahoma basketball game. The connection started that night and the rest is history!  

I remember the specific night I knew Colby was the one. We were at a friend’s brother’s wedding in Ponca City, OK. I literally only knew like 3 people there, but it was such a fun night. I just remember feeling so mushy and in love that night. That was the first time I had ever actually been able to picture my own wedding and more importantly the face of the person who will be next to me.

Colby:  She was so unique in so many ways, and I was instantly attracted to her. Whether it is her beautiful appearance or the very refreshing way she carries herself, there is certainly nobody like Sarah, and I am lucky to have found her.  

The moment I realized how passionate and diligent Sarah was with her profession I knew she was the one. I already had different feelings about her than I had ever had about anyone else, but adding that admiration and respect completed my circle of thoughts around her being the perfect one for me.
