Rain & strong winds didn’t stop these two from some epic Desert Foothills wedding photos! A random spring storm tore through the desert that day but they kept a positive attitude and braved the weather and rain. And I’m so glad they did.
Wind has a beautiful way of creating movement in portraits…from the bride’s hair blowing away from her face, to the ribbons on her bouquet, creating something unique that we don’t get everyday here in Arizona. And can we talk about those dark blue skies for a minute? I’m so happy for these two and how they just went with the flow, and trusted me even though they got a few raindrops on their shoulders.
I asked each of them to share with me a favorite memory from when they first started dating:
Caleb: After going to coffee, we decided to go to a movie. While we were walking in, we were talking about what kind of music we like, and I like all kinds of music. Amanda asked, “What kind of music don’t you like?” I said, “I don’t know, I don’t really like Mariachi music.” And she said, in the most disappointed voice, “Caleb, my whole family is Mexican!” And I don’t remember what I said, but what I thought was, “Crap, I thought she was Italian, I’m never getting a second date now!”
Amanda: Within a month of when we first started dating, Caleb has to get his wisdom teeth removed, and I offered to take him to the dentist and take care of him afterward. When I picked him up from the procedure, he was still groggy from the drugs and couldn’t talk with all the gauze in his mouth. I took him to the pharmacy to pick up his prescriptions and left him in the car while I went inside. Little did I know, I went to the wrong pharmacy, and they didn’t have Caleb on file. So, not knowing much about him, I had to give the pharmacy as much information as I knew about him in order for them to fill his prescription. I was so nervous about making sure I was taking good care of him, but it turned out to be one of my favorite weekends with him. We laid on the couch all weekend, watched tv and ate soup. I loved taking care of him, and I knew by the way he held my hand on the way home from the dentist (when he was still drugged) that he was so grateful I was there with him.
So great! Congrats to you both and thank you for having me with you on such a perfect day!
