What a gorgeous, sunny (and warm!) day for Laura & Matt’s Boyce Thompson Arboretum engagement session! Perfectly spring and wonderfully fun and romantic, they were so much fun to photograph and spend the afternoon with.
I asked Laura to tell me about how Matt proposed:
“We got engaged on November 11, 2020 at the Enchanted Vine Winery in beautiful Alto, New Mexico. Matt had been planning this for months. It included coordinating travel for some of our best friends amidst a pandemic, securing the winery, coordinating with a long distance event planner, and intercepting dozens of threats to the surprise plan.
It was a beautiful day, and Matt and I had gone to check out the second story deck of the winery, while our friends Kristen and Josh ‘checked out the downstairs.’ When we reached the deck, I was trying to take a boomerang on Insta of my wine and Matt began speaking noticeably more formal. The next thing I knew, Matt was pulling out a ring, beginning to get down on one knee, ended up curtsying in true British fashion, and popping the question.
‘Levels’ started playing, and as we came downstairs expecting to see Kristen and Josh, I was shocked to ALSO see our best friends, Katy and Dylan with open arms. They had a champagne toast waiting with for us with flowers and a large amount of cookies.”
Can’t wait for their wedding next spring with In Awe Weddings & Events at Royal Palms!
