Kara & TJ’s Omni Montelucia wedding day was literally picture perfect–from the perfect weather, to the love of all their friends and family, to the nearly 300 person guest list gathering for the black tie affair–it was one for the books! These two adorable high school sweethearts have made it through life’s ups and downs as best friends and biggest supporters.
I asked them to tell me about how they met and their early dating days:
Kara: “We met in the 7th grade at our mutual family friend’s house. At the time, I was a gymnast and TJ’s mom is a gymnastics coach. Somehow, by the end of the night, we found ourselves doing synchronized back flips in the front yard.
Our first official date was to the homecoming dance junior year of high school. Due to a lot of excitement and nerves he showed up 15 minutes early to the pre-party… good thing, because he forgot to pick me up from my house! After we laughed about the miscommunication, it ended up being the perfect night, because TJ asked me to be his girlfriend (so high school). 7 years later and he’s never forgotten to pick me up again.
I knew TJ was the one after high school graduation, when he saved me from a near death paddle boarding experience on our family trip to Hawaii. I also knew when I realized how perfectly he fit in with my family full of girls.”
TJ: “I knew Kara was the one and only at the first home Mizzou football game freshman year of college. She was on the field cheerleading for the first time and I could tell how happy we both would be together, even though we were going to be at different schools.”
So happy for you both! Congrats!
