El Chorro Wedding – Dih-Dih & David

Weddings

It was a picture perfect setting for Dih-Dih & David’s El Chorro wedding. With all the spring blossoms in full bloom, we had a unique time of year to create some extra colorful photos throughout the day. Set in the intimate El Chorro Herb Garden, this relaxed day was celebrated with their closest family and friends.

I asked David about how they met, their early dating days, and how he proposed:

“We met at work three years ago. Dih-Dih was my chief resident and I was smitten after first incision.

I knew she was the one when we went on a disaster camping trip and hiked through a cactus field with our dog, Bella. We realized we had a lot of thorns in our shoes and then we freaked out because Bella was walking right behind us. I scooped her up and her paws were covered in thorns. Dih-Dih pulled every thorn out while I held her, even when they made her fingers bleed. When I watched her take care of my pup like that, I knew I wanted her in my life forever.

One of my favorite early dating memories was the first time we went hiking in Sedona. I picked up Dih-Dih in my old car that didn’t have air conditioning. It was August. She was post-call and when we got up to Sedona, it started torrentially pouring rain and we couldn’t get out of the heat coffin we drove up in. The hike was beautiful, but the travel was torture.

I proposed when we took a trip out to Crested Butte and planned on hiking from Crested Butte to Aspen through the Maroon Bells for Dih-Dih’s birthday. We got there late and camped in the Jeep. We got up early with Bella and it was lightly raining. We knew it was going to rain in the morning, but thought it would subside. It did not. About 6 miles into the hike, it started to rain heavily and then it turned to snow. We were standing in the middle of a snap snow storm and I asked if she wanted her birthday present. She said no. We hoofed it back to the Jeep with a frozen Bella in tow. As soon as we got back, the sun came out and it stopped raining. We found another alpine lake to hang out by for a bit after we dried off and I proposed there.”

Congrats you two!
