El Chorro wedding photos - Rachel Solomon Photography

Brea & Neil’s El Chorro wedding photos turned out so beautifully! Al fresco weddings are my specialty. I was thrilled when they told me their reception was going to be held on El Chorro’s Casa Paloma lawn. I mean just look at those views of Camelback Mountain! The weather was absolutely perfect, everyone was so kind and genuine, and it was the perfect way to kick off my fall wedding season.

I asked them each to tell me about a favorite memory from when they first started dating:

Brea: I remember the first time I drove up to San Luis Obispo (where Neil was finishing up college). He lived with 5 other guys in a house that I wouldn’t even call “Fratty,” because that is a compliment compared to this place. I found out later that they had a serious dirty dishes problem. Neil had spent 2 hours the day I got there cleaning all of them and putting them away. He says that he’ll never forget the smell. I had never had anyone go out of their way and try to impress me like that.

Neil: One of our first trips together was to San Francisco. We decided to drive together from Santa Maria, CA (my hometown), and drive up the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to San Francisco for New Years. For those who don’t know, taking PCH doubles or triples the drive time, so this was quite the commitment. We stopped by Hearst Castle along the way and took a tour. Brea brought along a playlist she had made. “American Girl” by Tom Petty came on the list. Brea did not realize that this was my favorite song. So there I was with my favorite person, driving some of my favorite coastline, after leaving one of my favorite places (Hearst Castle), and listening to my favorite song. This will always be a special moment for me.
