Even though it was chilly and windy for Emily & Vik’s Arizona desert engagement photos, these two were all smiles. I’m so thankful my couples trust me to hike through the desert in heels and suit jackets to photograph them in such stunning locations. And we were fortunate to time our session perfectly with the spring poppy bloom after all the rain we recently had here in the desert.
I asked Emily to tell me about how Vik proposed:
“We were in Scottsdale, AZ celebrating my brother’s 30th birthday. It was around 3:30pm and Vik had been bugging me to get ready early for dinner (we weren’t getting picked up until 5:30pm, and it takes me MAYBE an hour to get ready). I told him that we didn’t need to be ready that early. In hindsight, our nephew and niece weren’t coming to dinner, and the babysitter was coming over at 4:45pm. He wanted to propose before the babysitter got there!
I finally ended up getting ready around 4:45 (and yes, the babysitter was already there). He told me he wanted to go outside and have a glass of wine before dinner, which was not weird to me – it’s always so beautiful in Scottsdale, and I love spending time outside. We went outside and he asked me to marry him and Marley (our dog) forever – easiest YES ever!”
So excited for their wedding next spring with Imoni Events at The Country Club at DC Ranch!
