Jessica & Vince’s gorgeous Omni Montelucia wedding photos set the stage for the perfect day! A black tie affair, filled with lush floral, and an incredible luxury ballroom experience wowed the guests from the moment they arrived.
I asked Jessica to tell me about how Vince proposed:
“We had back to back family reunions to attend, his in New Jersey and mine in Ohio. We flew into New York City first. His sisters live there, but were out of town for a wedding, and we stayed the night at their place. As far as I knew, the plan was to drive to New Jersey the next day.
In the morning, as we were getting ready to spend some time adventuring around Manhattan, I was trying to figure out what to wear and he said, ‘Well I always love that purple dress on you! Wear that!’
We started off in little Italy and sat down and shared a caprese salad and a pitcher of sangria. We then got in a cab and drove over to Central Park. He always mentioned that he wanted to go to Central Park with me. He was fairly quiet in the cab, and was looking at his phone a lot, but I didn’t think anything of it. I was just happy, having a good day, and felt very relaxed.
We got to the park, and he was showing me from a distance this beautiful fountain in an area that had actually been closed to the public for years, and was used as a bird sanctuary. It was a part of the park that I guess was dedicated to the story of ‘the secret garden.’ I took a beautiful picture of the fountain from a distance. We walked down a path holding hands, and he was walking very slowly…
We ended up at the fountain I had just taken the picture of. I started walking away from it, and he said, ‘What are you doing?’ I was just being a brat and said, ‘It’s too misty! This close, my hair is going to poof out!’ But he kept pulling me back and just saying, ‘Jessica, Jessica!’ He turned me towards him, looked me in the eyes, and I asked him with concern ‘What? What is wrong?’ Then he got down on one knee with the biggest smile on his face and asked me to marry him!
I was caught so off guard and was just yelling ‘Oh my God! Oh my God!’ hyperventilating and wrapping my arms around him. There was so much cheering so I started looking around frantically, I was in so much shock! I looked to my left and there was a photographer capturing the entire moment. Turns out I hadn’t even said the actual word YES yet, and he asked me ‘So… is that a YES?!’ Haha! I’d say that was one of the most confident yeses I’ve ever given.
Everything–from recommending I wear his favorite purple dress, the sitting down for caprese and sangria, him walking so slowly to the ultimate location–was all because he was communicating with the photographer to make sure the timing was spot on. He then told me, “By the way, we’re not going to New Jersey tonight. We’re staying at the Ritz Carlton in Central Park and I have a great dinner planned!” I was in awe. We got to the room and there were strawberries and champagne waiting for us that his boss had sent. After our amazing dinner, where we were congratulated by many of the staff (me still in awe that all these people knew), we returned to rose petals covering our room. He had been planning this for months and it was just all so unbelievable!”
