Rancho de los Caballeros Wedding

Cecily & Nick finally got to have the Rancho de los Caballeros wedding of their dreams after an extra 18 months of anticipation, two reschedules, an elopement, and a baby on the way. With an exciting weekend of events and celebrations surrounded by family and friends, from a bbq campfire cookout to horseback riding and golf, this was a weekend to remember.

Cecily’s family has been visiting “Los Cab” since before Cecily was born, and she has visited at least once a year every year of her life. In 2007 her parents bought a house on the property, and she, her siblings and nieces and nephews continue to love to come for holidays and family reunions. They wanted to share this unique and special place with all of their guests to experience the beauty and love of the Arizona southwest.

Their love is a modern, 21st century romance as they met on Hinge while both having moved to San Francisco as transplants–Cecily from Chicago, Nick from Maine. They met Oct 2017, and a puppy, new apartment, and trips cross coasts later, were engaged.

I asked Cecily to tell me about their favorite early dating memories and when they knew each other was the one:

Cecily: “My favorite memory is on our second date–we got coffee and walked to Dolores Park in San Francisco. Nick took a tumble down the famous Dolores hill, walking around with a mudstained, what looked like an “accident,” behind for the rest of the date. We took ‘dating in the city’ as an opportunity to try things we hadn’t done–see Beach Blanket Babylon, go see the Christmas Lights at the Fairmont, a weekend in Carmel and trips to each other’s hometowns.

I knew Nick was the one within the first month. I immediately day dreamt about our future together, and even did a few embarrassing, almost show-stopper moments in an effort to self-sabotage the seemingly amazing thing in front of me (like introducing Nick to my parents at week 3 at a football tailgate).”

Nick: “I knew a couple months into the relationship, when we had our first real ‘are we doing this’ conversation. I wondered if we had dove in too fast, but after 3 days of ‘not talking,’ I knew that was 3 days too long and opened myself up to the vulnerability of this being the real deal.”
