It was a very warm and windy day for Andrea & John’s Secret Garden wedding photos, but these two were still full of energy and laughter all day long!

I asked Andrea to tell me about how John proposed:

“December 12th, 2015: That Friday night John had his office holiday party at El Chorro. The moment we walked into the door I could feel how special it was. Romantic lights, outdoor fireplaces blazing, and lush lemon trees lining the beautiful garden. The entire time you couldn’t help but dream of the amazing wedding you could have there, and I just so happened to mention it some of the ladies that night. Toward the end of the evening, John asked if I wanted to walk through the property, as it’s a large venue. We strolled in candlelight to the open ceremony area that overlooks Camelback Mountain. As I was truly amazed by the beauty surrounding us, John looked over at me and began to talk. As he started, he pulled at the ring, and to my amazement, I gasped:

Me: Are you really doing this?
John: Yes, do you want me to get down on one knee?
Me: I mean… Yes if you’re doing this right now!

Laughing in the moonlight, he kneeled and put the ring on my finger. He said to keep it on the DL, as we had plans the next day, so that night we just kept it between us. It was super nice to just have time together. The next morning we woke up and hiked Papago Mountain. When we got back, both of our entire families were waiting for us as a surprise! The night John rented out Coups Des Tartes restaurant and we had a beautiful celebration uniting two families. It was truly a very special night. Afterwards, all the siblings went out for a night in Old Town… needless to say, it was one for the books.”
