Sara & Kevin’s El Chorro wedding was so stunning, you’d never know we had a massive downpour right before the ceremony–soaking the chairs and throwing off our photo schedule. With the fantastic help of the amazing Imoni Events team, the staff at El Chorro, and the floral team, it was all hands on deck. What could have been a simple overcast day turned into a beautiful golden hour and this El Chorro wedding with its outdoor candlelit reception was off the charts.
I asked Sara to tell me about how Kevin proposed:
“We got engaged December 18th, 2020. For the past 2 years we have been talking about going down to Cabo for vacation, as Kevin has a timeshare at a resort there that we never use! We finally got it booked, and I told Kevin that I was going to leave all the restaurant planning and everything up to him since he has been there before and I have not. I did tell him that I would like to do one of the sunset cruises while we were there, but otherwise I was good for being lazy on the beach if nothing else! So he proceeded to plan everything, down to where we were having dinner each night and getting reservations.
Our second day there, he had reserved a boat to hang out on during the afternoon since he knows I love being out on the water and in the sun, and then just change our clothes and stay out for the sunset! We get to this boat, and by all means it’s not a boat–it’s a beautiful yacht! It has three crew members, a chef, and a photographer was on board (which I found out later Kevin knew about and had agreed to him being there to document the memory), which they told me the photographer was there capturing photos for the boat charter’s new website! (of course I believed it, lol)
It was a fabulous afternoon cruising around in the boat, jumping in the water and having a delicious lunch! I finally went down to change, and was all upset because my hair would not cooperate and I was wanting to be able to take nice photos with the sunset! Anyways, after Kevin checked on my status several times, the sun was just starting to set and I made it up just in time. We stood at the front of the boat chatting, and he asked me what could be any better than this? I of course made a little crack about my hair could be looking better, lol, but then he got down on one knee, and with the biggest grin he asked me to marry him! I was just elated, and it was the most romantic scene and scenario I could have ever imagined (which he knows well because I am a big romantic at heart). I am so happy the photographer was there too, as it was all captured perfectly and is something we will never forget! Best vacation ever!”
